New Killer America is the debut album by the five-piece nu metal/alternative metal music group Skrape. The album was released on March 20, 2001 via RCA Records. Skrape were signed to RCA Records in October 1999, and commenced recording their debut New Killer America in 2000. The songs "Broken Knees", "Blow Up", "Goodbye", "Kill Control", "Sunshine", "Waste" and "What You Say" were all rerecorded for the album, having previously appeared on the demo which caught the attention of RCA Records.
Skrape's 2001 debut album New Killer America brings hard rock to the forefront with a dazzling display of creative intensity. Due largely to the production of Ulrich Wild (Powerman 5000, Static-X, Taproot), the album takes on a very groove-based, mysterious aura, which tracks such as "Isolate" and "Sunshine" best demonstrate. Raw guitar riffs are combined with a very catchy, overlaid vocal hook on the album's first single, "Waste.

Their first effort "New Killer America" is a fun album to listen to indeed. Although this may be considered NuMetal I would consider it quite a few steps ahead of other bands of their Ilk. These guys are heavy, kinda odd, and fairly creative enough that most people should probably give this album a chance. It's not without it's flaws, but all in all this is a very enjoyable listen. Let me start off with the bad points with this album. To be fair I didn't completely dislike any of the songs on this album which is definitely a good thing.
