South at Eight, North at Nine. South at Eight, North at Nine Tracklist. Show all albums by Colin Linden.

Canadian roots/blues artist and producer Linden hasn't made a bad or even lackluster album under his own name or with his occasional Blackie & the Rodeo Kings cohorts. This 1994 Juno award winner is an unqualified success as well as somewhat of a blueprint for his approach. His combination of subtle rock, blues, gospel, and folk played with acoustic and electric instruments was already perfected even on this early effort and his songwriting reflects that.

In August 1980, Linden recorded his album Colin Linden Live! He also played as a sideman for Joe Mendelson, Willie P. Bennett, Gwen Swick and Amos Garrett. His second album, Colin Linden and the Immortals was released by Stony Plain Records in 1986. Linden has acknowledged the influence of the Band; in the early 1980s, Linden met three of its original members, Rick Danko, Garth Hudson and Levon Helm. Subsequently, Linden became his co-producer. Linden's blues album of 1993, entitled South at Eight, North at Nine, distributed by Sony Music Entertainment in Canada, won a Juno Award in the blues and gospel category

This song is by Colin Linden and appears on the album South At Eight North At Nine (1993). The clouds they move so gracefulThe thumbnail moon's so faithfulBut I can't wait until we reach dry land. The bow is rocking endlessAnd I feel so defencelessBut I can't wait until we reach dry land. In the salty air I will feel your caressThrough the stormy night I will whisperI love you my dear. The crew is full of hard drinkI hope to God we don't sinkAnd I can't wait until we reach dry land.
