Kol Haruach means voice of the spirit which embodies the groups improvisational, according to agents, between their standards and the original music, the band is known to draw a multi-ethnic crowd of between 1000–1500 people per concert, easily selling out major shows. The group played for the 2009 presidential Inaugural festivities and has been simulcast on NPR, guest artists with the group have included accomplished cantors Phil Greenfield and Ramon Tasat. This project involved guest percussionist Sławomir Berny, in the same year Kroke & Tindra released album Live in Førde - the recordings were made in the auditorium at Førdehuset on July 10,2010 for NRKs radio P2. After the concert, the supergroup members split up and continued working with their own bands. However, as all the members were busy with their own bands, the project was postponed for the future. The Band has never performed live all together but members of the band have performed some Black Sheep Band songs with their own bands and were joined by other BSB members. They recorded a double LP (Sheep From Goats), which was far more unconventional than anything they had created with their own bands. The New Klezmer Quintet has an older sister band called The Kol Haruach Orchestra which plays private events, while the main band plays strictly concert venues. A great number of these artistes have gone on to forge successful careers with their own bands whilst Nicholas Zacharia has remained as the leader of the band and is still active as of 2008.

The Klezmer Conservatory Band is a Boston-based group which performs traditional klezmer music; it was formed by Hankus Netsky of the New England Conservatory of Music in 1980. Originally formed for a single concert, they have gone on to release eleven albums. Netsky is the grandson and nephew of traditional klezmer musicians. He was inspired by jam sessions with Irish musicians to attempt something with klezmer music.
