Our sun is an anomaly because it is a solo star. A team of astronomers believes they may have found if not an identical twin, then a sibling of our own home star. A team of astronomers in Portugal says they may have located our sun's identical twin and it could lead to the discovery of life on other planets. The IA team located HD186302 some 184 light years away.

The album was produced by using recordings from four different live venues: The Bottom Line in New York City; The IMAC at Huntington, New York; New Park Entertainment in Philadelphia; and The Keswick Theatre in Glenside, Pennsylvania. The album had further studio production at American Recording in Calabasas, California.

A Thousand Suns has drifted so far from it that their original sound is way beyond the horizon. Even Chester Bennington himself said that he doesn’t fully like A Thousand Suns. And they didn't disappoint. A Thousand Suns is perhaps one of the deepest, darkest material LP has ever done to date. It's a concept album about the end of the world via nuclear holocaust. Now I know that this is 2011 and people would rather believe in God than fear nuclear holocaust, but its still an issue, even though people refuse to believe its a real threat.

Sunshine, strummed guitars and harmonies. All good qualities, I'm sure we can agree. But when they are three elements in music, you run the risk of sounding derivative or (potentially worse) lifeless. All too often, some musicians will try to overcompensate for having nothing to say by having a happy sound, or hope that their lack of lyrical or emotional depth can be masked by three- or four-part harmony. We are blessed that the Identical Suns do not suffer from a lack of things to say. The harmonies are beautiful and suit the music. The lyrics have depth, emotional and intellectual. Guitars, strummed and otherwise, add colors and textures to music that may bring to mind Buffalo Springfield, the Fleet Foxes, the Beach Boys, Big Star and so many other classic acts. But they are not a derivative band. Main songwriters Todd Stanton and Rene Rodriguez sing from the heart. They sing from experience. They sing from the joys of early morning sunshine and from the angst of 2 a.m. restlessness. The material isn't all kittens and clouds, but neither is it all darkness and mood.Great music has variety, it grabs the ears, the head and the heart. To have melodies and lyrics float through your mind when you least expect them, to have these songs form soundtracks to memories you had before you ever heard the music -- these are special, noteworthy qualities.Of the 10 songs on the Identical Suns' debut album, an astonishing 10 songs are keepers. You read that right. Every song on this album has merit. "There's a special place and you keep it locked inside / when that song comes on the radio, it takes you for a ride" (from "Nothing I Can Do") speaks to the intimacy of music, how it can work on all of us ... and amazingly, THIS MUSIC reaches that special place, locked inside all of us. The rich vocals, the great instrumentation, the arrangements, the mixes, the melodies ... This is great music. It is relevant music. It's music that fans of 1960s, 1970s, 1980s and 1990s music fans can find great joy in.Personal favorites include "Coulda Sent a Reminder," "Yesterday Ended at Midnight" and especially "Common Ground," the last of which I consider the spiritual center of the record. "Cracks in the road, steering control / they never told us that's what love is made of." This is music to listen to with a loved one, or when thinking of a loved one ... It is has all the appreciation of a mature love, with the energy of a new love and the scars of up-and-down love.Sunshine, strummed guitars and harmonies. All good qualities, qualities that the Identical Suns put to magnificent use. Beyond the sum of its parts, this music is vital, it is engaging. It is one of the best new albums I've listened to in 2015, and I am filled with excitement and anticipation to see where the Suns go from here."Wake up to the challenge, brush off the pain that is gone / and look to the sun." Do that. And look to the Suns. They'll guide you where you want to go.
