The Rolling Stones is the debut album by the Rolling Stones, released by Decca Records in the UK on 16 April 1964. The album is included in Robert Dimery's 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die.

Few partnerships in rock 'n' roll have been as productive as the collaboration between Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, and of course having wunderkind Brian Jones along did nothing to hinder the Rolling Stones' popularity. From the get-go, the band played the raunchy, gritty doppelganger to the Beatles' dandified Merseybeat pop. They ventured a heavier, bluesier sound than their British Invasion counterparts, taking their cues from Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf. and the new millennium that still sees them doing great live shows. The last official album was A Bigger Bang from 2005, and they've more or less stopped making new stuff since. The Beatles quit the concerts to concentrate on the studio. The Stones, being the live band they always were, quit the studio to concentrate on the concerts.

The third album by Jack and Meg White was the right dynamite for a mainstream breakthrough. Jack’s Delta-roadhouse fantasies, Detroit-garage-rock razzle and busted-love lyricism, as well as Meg’s toy-thunder drumming all peaked at once. 496. Boz Scaggs, ‘Boz Scaggs’.

Shake Your Money Maker is the debut album by The Black Crowes, released in January 1990. It reached on the Billboard 200 Top Albums chart. Two of its singles, "Hard to Handle" and "She Talks to Angels", reached on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. Jealous Again", "Twice As Hard" and "Seeing Things" also charted. That pack of aging rogues may or may not fit the bill for the Greatest Rock & Roll Band in the World circa 1990, but the group's influence remains surprisingly vital - or haven't you heard Aerosmith strut its stuff lately? Well, here's another set of hopped-up white boys, four young bands trying to get over by mixing highly amped variations on the Chess Records catalog with a rasping, exaggerated take on soul music's man-and-a-half braggadocio.

Some of those old bastions - like Bob Dylan, Led Zeppelin and the Rolling Stones - attempted to hold on to their influence by adopting sorta new guises. Up-and-comers inspired by those '60s holdovers – like Aerosmith and Kiss – were spinning those influences in new-old directions. like the Ramones and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, both of whom defied labels. Still, old-time rock 'n' roll was kicking and screaming, whether it was Bob Seger slipping his career into high gear with a heavy dose of nostalgia or AC/DC twisting the ol' blues-rock standby into riff-heavy new shapes. Even Boston, the year's biggest debut, rocked a foundation that went back to the '60s as it fine-tuned the future
