Solo English Horn with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra. January 28 ·. I will be a soloist at the upcoming Japan Double-Reed 50th Anniversary Concert on March 2, 2018 at Toppan Hall in Tokyo, Japan. As the only American invited to participate in this exciting event, I will be performing "Chrysalis" for English Horn and piano by American composer, Alyssa Morris - a work that I commissioned, premiered and recorded. I will also perform "The Shepherds of Provence" for oboe and English Horn by Eugène Bozza with Hansjorg Schellenberger, former Principal oboist with the Berlin Philharmonic.
Carolyn Hove has been the solo English horn player in the Los Angeles Philharmonic since 1988. Following her graduation from the Oberlin College Conservatory of Music, until she assumed the English horn position with the San Antonio Symphony in 1986, Ms. Hove had an active musical career in the Chicago area, where she performed with numerous ensembles and was a member of the faculties of Elmhurst College and Northern Illinois University
