A big band is a type of musical ensemble that usually consists of ten or more musicians with four sections: saxophones, trumpets, trombones, and a rhythm section. Big bands originated during the early 1910s and dominated jazz in the early 1940s when swing was most popular. The term "big band" is also used to describe a genre of music. One problem with this usage is that it overlooks the variety of music played by these bands.

Lindsey was going through a really rough time when he wrote this song and I can feel his pain in every cord and he makes his guitar cry for him every time. but never like on this live CD set. It gave me the chills and her voice is like velvet, it's such a soulful version. In addition to playing familiar hits live, the band offers new songs as well. Once again Christine McVie scores a vocal bull's eye with "One More Lonely Night. Seemingly, deceptively without effort, she manages to convey anguish, loneliness, desire, and wisdom.

In 1987, Mr. Wellman left Brown’s band to join Davis’s road band. The job offer came as a surprise. It was an era when go-go bands sold . tapes - cassettes recorded directly off the sound board - to their fans at gigs. tape, and Davis inquired about the drummer. Davis called the Wellman residence late that night - after Mr. Wellman was asleep.

King’s first album for the Stax label combines his hard, unflashy guitar playing with the sleek sound of the label’s house band, Booker T. and the MG’s. Hits such as Crosscut Saw and Laundromat Blues earned King a new rock & roll audience. By their fifth album, Kiss were the most popular band in America, with sold-out stadium tours and eventually their own pinball machine, makeup line and a TV movie. Built around the proto power ballad Beth, this is a ridiculously over-the-top party-rock album that just gets better with age. Listen here.
